I’m Maria — a former teacher, abuse survivor and woman of faith who turned away from God, spent years in the wilderness, and found my way back. Not because I had it all together. Because God is the Father who runs toward you.
I turned away from God.
But He never turned from me.
After abuse, I walked away from faith. I carried shame I didn’t know how to put down — the kind that whispers you are too broken, too far gone, too much. The world agreed. And for a long time, so did I.
I trained as a computer teacher. I built a life. But underneath it all, I always felt like everything I was going through was preparing me for something. Like God was allowing me to experience the full weight of human struggle so I could one day truly understand others going through the same.
